After the weekend's disappointing slap, tickle and snuggle fest between Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000, UFC President Dana White has announced the signing of English Rugby League prop Mitch Garbutt to a Bellator contract.
This surprising move comes after Garbutt flattened North Queensland Cowboys prop James Tamou in the Rugby League World Club Challenge over the weekend.
Dana White had this to say, "We're excited to announce the signing of Mitch. The Kimbo/Dada fight made it painfully obvious that MMA fans want to see warriors hit each other when they pay for a fight. Not just cuddle and feel each other up in the octagon. We want to air fights, not soft pornography.
"Mitch has demonstrated that when he throws a punch it can actually connect with someone, which is impressive. When Mitch hits someone, they stay hit."
The UFC president is now on a head hunting mission to poach athletes and celebrities to join Bellator or the UFC. Former AFL star Barry Hall has met with White, as has NRL star Paul Gallen and crazed actor Shia LaBeouf after he recently punched a fan.
On LaBeouf, White had this to say, "We need his sort of unbridled aggression. Sure he's a couple of beers short of a six pack, but the general public loves a crazy villain in these sorts of sports. Just look at Anthony Mundine, he's not the full quid, but everyone loves to hate him."
